Who We Are
Birdies WINGS is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) created from a vision to provide social emotional, educational, health, and career support to girls and women, especially those with disabilities. Economic self-sufficiency and emotional health are our primary focus.
Message from our founder, Shajada Hodges:
I want women and girls to be honored. I envision generations of women and girls sharing, caring, and loving one another. I believe age brings wisdom and youth brings innovation and excitement. Creating a collaboration of generations is like mixing the ingredients to the family's mac-n-cheese recipe. It is always soothing to the soul!
Professional and Educational Background:
Shajada has dedicated her life to serving others. She has spent many years in the public education system advocating for individuals with disabilities. Also, Shajada has held various positions in the retail and financial sectors to include leadership roles.
